Carving Technique & Gear FAQ

The Carving Masterclass requires you to comfortably link turns on blue runs and feel ready for steeper red terrain. It is not designed for beginners, but for intermediate riders looking to transition from skidded turns to clean, locked-in carved arcs on edge.

Instructor Trajko Marinković rides close to you recording your runs with a high-definition camera. During on-slope breaks, the footage is reviewed in slow motion to analyze your center of mass, hip angulation, knee flexion, and edge transition timing for immediate technique correction.

Carving is best learned on a traditional camber or directional board with medium-to-stiff flex and strong torsional stiffness. Stiffer bindings and responsive boots are also crucial for immediate pressure transfer onto the edge. Instructor Trajko can evaluate your gear setup before hitting the slopes.

Carving requires wide, firm, freshly groomed slopes. Early morning sessions (from 09:00 AM) on Pančićev Vrh (4b), Crvena Duboka, and Krčmar are preferred while the corduroy is pristine and bump-free. Later in the day, quieter wide slopes like Gobelja or Marine Vode are selected.
